visited Nain and met the mother and mourners

Apostle Luke tells us that traveled to Nain one day on a ministry assignment. He was accompanied by His disciples and a very large crowd of excited people.

As approached the city gates, He saw the funeral procession. The mother was accompanied by a large crowd of people. She was sad and weeping.

Feeling compassion for the sad mother, Jesus approached her and said, “don’t cry.”

His mother was a widow who had lost her only son. – Slide 6

Jesus told the young man to arise

Jesus went up to the coffin and touched it. When He did so, the people carrying it sopped walking.

Speaking firmly, Jesus said, “young man, I say to you, arise.”

The dead man got up and began to speak. Jesus then handed him over to his mother with a smile.

Then he began to talk. Jesus gave him back to his mother. – Slide 12

Everyone in the crowd went crazy. All of the people who were crying became jubilant. They began to praise God with all of the energy they had.

They said things like:

A great prophet has arisen among us!” and

God has visited his people!

When they saw the miracle, people in the crowd told it everywhere they went in the region.

Everyone was amazed and began praising God. They said, ‘A great prophet has come to us! God is taking care of His people.’ News of this great miracle spread throughout the area and south to Judea and Jerusalem. – Slide 13
