Jesus Healed The Centurion's Servant

How healed the Centurion’s servant

Today’s bible story tells how healed the Centurion’s servant. This miracle took place in the city of Capernaum, where lived. The Lord had just arrived home from his travels when the Centurion came to see Him.

A Centurion was a captain in the Roman army who was in charge of one hundred soldiers. The Centurion had a servant who had
become paralyzed. The man was in terrible pain and close to death.

The Centurion asked Jewish leaders to ask to heal his servant

The Centurion heard that had arrived home. He did not feel worthy, so he went to Jewish leaders ask asked them for help.

The Jewish leaders went to Jesus to ask him to heal the Centurion’s servant.

The leaders found Jesus and told him about the problem. They explained that the Centurion deserved His help because he loved the Jewish people and had even built a synagogue for them.

Jesus went with the leaders to the Centurion’s house

On hearing the request, Jesus did not hesitate. He accompanied the leaders to the home of the Centurion. This was very unusual because Jews did not go into the homes of non-Jewish people.

When he learned that Jesus was coming to his house, the Centurion sent messengers to give a message to Jesus:

“Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof.

Therefore I did not presume to come to you. But say the word, and let my servant be healed.”

Jesus was amazed at the Centurion’s words. He turned to the crowd that followed him and told them that no one in had ever shown such faith.

When the messengers returned to the house, they found that the servant had been healed.
