Human Spirit: What Is The Spirit Of Your Child?

Published Categorized as Human Spirit

What we will learn in this teaching about the ?

In this article. I will teach about the human spirit from a biblical perspective since this is where we first learn about the concept. We will explore definitions of the human spirit, synonyms, appearance or shape of the human spirit and characteristics.

We see that it is important for a child to have a healthy, strong spirit, since the characteristics of that spirit can make or break the individual. For example, scriptures show that Jesus had a strong spirit and that he was full of wisdom:

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom (Luke 2: 40).

Jesus’ cousin, John the Baptist also possessed a strong spirit:
And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit (Luke 1: 80).

We therefore begin to get a glimmer of understanding about what it means to have a strong spirit when we think about the lives of Jesus and his cousin John the Baptist. Some of the characteristics that reveal the strength of their spirits include the following. They:

did not tell lies
were influential
were men of principle
understood and lived by truth
Inspired people to follow them
were outspoken and unafraid of people.
Brought value and improved the lives of others
Were sacrificial and did not live for themselves only
To name a few

It is therefore important to build a child with inner strength of spirit and not weakness. We will learn how to do this as we progress.

THE

The human spirit in the bible is the invisible part of the human that makes us alive, while the body is the vehicle that carries us around. This is confirmed by Apostle James who said that “the body without the spirit is dead” (James 2: 26).

Other biblical examples show that the body will be dead until the spirit returns into. One of the earliest examples is that of the of the Shunnamite woman who lay dead until his spirit was resuscitated by Prophet Elisha

20 And when he had lifted him and brought him to his mother, the child sat on her lap till noon, and then he died.
21 And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God and shut the door behind him and went out.
31 Gehazi went on ahead and laid the staff on the face of the child, but there was no sound or sign of life. Therefore he returned to meet him and told him, “The child has not awakened.”
32 When Elisha came into the house, he saw the child lying dead on his bed.
33 So he went in and shut the door behind the two of them and prayed to the Lord.
34 Then he went up and lay on the child, putting his mouth on his mouth, his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. And as he stretched himself upon him, the flesh of the child became warm.
35 Then he got up again and walked once back and forth in the house, and went up and stretched himself upon him. The child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.
36 Then he summoned Gehazi and said, “Call this Shunammite.” So he called her. And when she came to him, he said, “Pick up your .”
37 She came and fell at his feet, bowing to the ground. Then she picked up her and went out (2 Kings 4: 20 – 37)

In another example, the daughter of the ruler of the synagogue lay dead until Jesus called her spirit back to her body

49 While he was still speaking, someone from the ruler’s house came and said, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the Teacher any more.”
50 But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.”
51 And when he came to the house, he allowed no one to enter with him, except and John and James, and the father and mother of the child.
52 And all were weeping and mourning for her, but he said, “Do not weep, for she is not dead but sleeping.”
53 And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.
54 But taking her by the hand he called, saying, “Child, arise.”
55 And her spirit returned, and she got up at once. And he directed that something should be given her to eat. 56 And her parents were amazed, but he charged them to tell no one what had happened. (Lk 8: 51-55).

Finally, Jesus said that He possessed a spirit which left his body when he died on the cross:
Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost (Luke 23: 46)..

SYNONYMS FOR THE HUMAN SPIRIT

The Bible teaches us that God created the outer form or body of man from clay, then breathed into him, so that he became a “living soul” (Genesis 2: 7), the spirit can therefore be called the living part of man. SInce God breathed the “breath of life” into us (Gen 2: 7), can the human spirit be defined as the breath of life. Without the spirit we become inert and die. Job took up this truth in chapter 33: 4 when he said “the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.”

Words used in the bible to describe the human spirit include:
Spirit (Luke 8: 55).
Heart (1 3: 4).
Breath of life (Genesis 2: 7).
The inner man (Ephesians 3: 16).
Spiritual body (1 Corinthians 15: 50)
Hidden man of the heart (1 3: 4).

WHAT DOES THE HUMAN SPIRIT LOOK LIKE?

To date, I have not found any clear pictures in the bible about what the human spirit actually looks like. However, we know that the human spirit is invisible and does not consist of flesh and blood. Jesus taught this to the frightened disciples after His resurrection when they nearly passed out when He appeared to them.

To calm them, He told them that “a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.” (Lk 24: 39). In order further prove His point, He told them to “behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see” (Lk 24: 39).

Apostle Paul also further clarifies the issue when he spoke about the human spirit being an eternal element. In order words, while the natural body is destroyed in death, the spirit will live forever:
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God… (1 Corinthians 15: 50).

Since we now know that the human spirit is invisible and will live forever, we need to know what people look like when their bodies die and spirits are eternally alive in the invisible realm which we cannot see with the naked eyes. This eternal spirit is referred to as the spiritual body by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15: 44.

Here are a few examples of the appearance of that spiritual body:

The spiritual body or the form of the human spirit is the same as the human form. For example. God appeared to Ezekiel in the “likeness of the appearance of a man” (Eze 1: 26). In other words, Ezekiel saw the spiritual body of the heavenly God.

In Ezekiel 8: 1- 3, the hand of the Lord came upon the prophet and the hand of the Lord took him up by a lock of his hair. He was in a vision and therefore in a spiritual realm. His spirit was experiencing the vision. The hand of the Lord was not a human hand, but rather “the form of an hand”.
In one final example, we learn that the spiritual body can look like LIGHT. James 1: 17 says that God is the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Scriptures confirm and present the picture that “God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all” (1 Jn 1: 5). Light was the very first thing that God created. Jesus is the light of the world. Matthew 4: 16, in fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy, said that when Jesus came to earth:
“the people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.”

Darkness must go when He appears, even as the Moses’ spirit became enlightened and the glory of the Lord shone on his face as a result of communion with the Lord. We were created in the image and likeness of God, with our spirits in a state of light, or looking like light, but sin made us black. like the devil and his demons). How do I know this? Well, 1 Jn 1: 7 exhorts us to “…walk in the light, as he is in the light”.

Col 1: 13 further teaches us that this is because the Kingdom of Christ is the kingdom of light, since God “…delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear .” Do you receive the truth?

I was privileged to see the form of the human spirit on several occasions
I can truly say that the scriptures are true, since the my eyes were opened to see the human spirit in the state of light. I saw the human spirits of two adults and they looked, not like flesh and blood, but like the form of the individuals – a head part for the head, trunk, hands and feet. The appearance of the spirits was a brilliant yellow light, which indicated to me that the individuals were walking in the light.

I saw the spirit of a female child, looking yellow in color, not as brilliant as the adults, but looking just as Jesus did at her age. He was standing next to her in the same color. This means that she is growing in grace, wisdom and stature, just like the Lord did.

I have also seen demons and so have other people. In contrast, the demons in the vision looked like black, frightening, shapeless, horrifying forms.

What does it mean for a parent to understand that his or her child possesses a spirit?

Now that you know that your child possesses an internal, hidden, eternal spirit, you must also develop and care for the spirit of your child in the same way that you take care of his or her body.

In order to live successfully in the world, your child must possess a strong spirit as we said before. As we go along, we will teach you the kinds of spiritual foods that you must provide in order to facilitate the growth and development of your child’s spirit.

By the way, your child needs the Word of God in order to grow. Have you read the Word to your child?
